Chinese Crested Dog
The Chinese Crested Dog, despite its name, originated from Africa, where they were originally called African Hairless Terriers. It is thought that Chinese trading ships picked up this breed while stopping by on their Routes since they were talented ratters onboard, but there is no known evidence of this. They renamed the dog Chinese Crested, and that’s what it has been known as since then. It was recognized by the FCI in 1987, by the UK Kennel Club in 1981 and by the American Kennel Club in 1991.
